Resources for the Member

By Abby Vogel Robinson

Each month, Today’s Engineer highlights five different programs, products and services from IEEE-USA and elsewhere around the IEEE,  designed to help the members with their careers and professional development. Whether you're a student trying to select a focus, if you're just starting your career, or if you're getting close to retirement, IEEE has a wealth of resources to help you at every stage of your professional life.

1. IEEE-USA TechMatch Service for Entrepreneurs

IEEE-USA TechMatch is an online service that allows entrepreneurs access to seasoned businesspersons who, at no charge, will help them improve their business plans. IEEE-USA TechMatch provides a detailed, automated assessment of the entrepreneur’s plans and objectives, and then a committee of experienced reviewers will provide sustained, customized feedback to help improve the submitted business plan prior to presentation to prospective investors.

2.  eBook Classics

IEEE members can access more than 240 eBooks from the IEEE Press collection through IEEE Xplore. The eBook collection spans a number of today's technologies across 15 different content areas, and includes practical handbooks, introductory and advanced texts, reference works, and professional books. This collection of eBooks is offered to members at no additional cost.

3. IEEE-USA Career Fly-In

IEEE members from across the country visit Capitol Hill to explain why we, as a country, need to do a better job teaching our children math, science and engineering.

4.  IEEE Spectrum

IEEE Spectrum magazine is the flagship publication of the IEEE. It is a monthly magazine for technology innovators, business leaders, and the intellectually curious. Spectrum explores future technology trends and the impact of those trends on society and business.
